Misfit Alley – No Man’s Land

Modern pop-rock, self-produced upstarts Misfit Alley are slowly putting together a really strong selection of singles. The first, ‘Heartbreaks and Sex’, came out two and a half years prior, with six further songs between then and ‘No Man’s Alley’. The track combines electronic elements with classic pop-punk vibes to create a catchy affair that spans high-energy sections through acoustic segments. There’s a lot more to come from this lot!

The Art of Deception – Isolated
Release Date: 12th January 2024
Bringing metal and death core elements together, American metal outfit The Art of Deception have released their latest track ‘Isolated’. Brutal vocals from the off, there’s a desperate feeling to the track and you just know that the pits for ‘Isolated’ are going to be huge. The track does leave you wanting more. Luckily it’s on the way with new EP Imminence not too far away.

Dea & Saint – Shark Tank
Release Date: 11th January 2024
Whilst it can often be hard, and most likely unnecessary, to put music into specific genre categories, sometimes it’s just almost impossible! Enter Dea & Saint, an American band doing things entirely their own way. Whilst bringing rap elements together with hard rock and punk isn’t a new thing, I mean ‘Bring The Noise’ is over thirty years old, ‘Shark Tank’ is doing it with such ferocity that it feels entirely original.
Wrex – Recovery
Release Date: 13th January 2023 (okay, this one isn’t that ‘new’)
South Coast alt-rock pair Wrex have spent the past year gaining a following that has provided a strong foundation for 2024, so what better time to revisit a track that came out almost exactly 12-months ago. With soaring vocals and pop elements colliding with the softer end of the rock spectrum, the track and band will be a hit alongside many of the newer bands that are more established. Think Vukovi for example.
Slow Animals – Hearts of Flame
Release Date: 5th January 2024
Hard rock / grunge artist Slow Animals released just their third track at the start of 2024, in the form of five-minute epic ‘Hearts of Flame’. The song is one of two halves where the opening couple of minutes are a slow-burning journey through some twinkly guitars and psychedelic, bordering on shoegaze, vocals with classic grunge style choruses that turn the energy up temporarily. That’s lobbed straight out of the window though as guitars take over and blow through any potential cobwebs.
