CARNE – MSG
Release Date: 30th September 2026
With a new EP out in March 2027, it’s CARNE’s time to shine. If you’ve been here for ‘Polly’s Desires’ and ‘J.U.M’ then you’ll already be aware of the grungy vibe that the Brighton, England based four-piece combine with modern pop-style hooks. This is something that has been polished further on ‘MSG’ to the point where somehow it feels classy. From the very off the track has a vocal prominence that really pulls you into the lyrical story of seeing someone for who they really are. A fine introduction to a new era of CARNE.
Negate – SUBstance
Release Date: 22nd September 2026
Aussie industrial metalcore outfit Negate have only got two songs to their new, 2025’s ‘consume’ and now the powerful ‘SUBstance’, but they’re still managing to steadily grow a dedicated fan base. It’s little wonder really as ‘SUBstance’ feels unique from end-to-end, with a bouncing riff that drives electronic vibes and dual vocals that delightfully combine rough growls with clean 90s alt-rock styles. You’ll be bouncing along in seconds.
da nang – IYKYK
Release Date: 25th September 2026
When you have one foot in pop punk it’s almost a given that there will be some minor hardcore influences, something which Canadian band da nang lean into perfectly on latest track ‘IYKYK’. With what might be some of the most addictive guitars of 2026, ‘IYKYK’ doesn’t feel so much like the front row at shows would be bouncing, more like dancing politely while singing as loud as possible.
Escape The Box – Great
Release Date: 25th September 2026
From the beginning of ‘Great’ you get a really good idea of what Escape The Box are about. Modern metalcore with a touch of electronicore mixed in for good measure. The sort that certain masked bands are pioneering currently. Here, ‘Great’ is about transitioning your life into fatherhood and the lyrics are likely to pull on the heartstrings of many first time parents. Soaring choruses that combine sickly cleans with punchy screams mean you’re never quite sure what’s going to happen next.
