Singles Only 2019 – Round-up #25

Sleepcircle – Succubus

Instagram // Spotify

‘Succubus’ kicks off with the dirtiest of bass lines and a filthy, industrial style before descending into a chugging, riff-fuelled grungey monster. The clean vocals give the song more depth though, with a stark contrast between the bass and the singing. It’s a wonderful piece of songwriting that gets more and more intriguing as the song pushes on to the point where this becomes compulsive listening. I am eager to see how this sounds like because it sounds like it could be huge.

Self Deception – Bury Me Alive

Facebook // Spotify

Whilst we’re on the subject of huge tracks, ‘Bury Me Alive’ is just that. This is the epitome of modern metal with it’s soaring verses, powerful and emotive vocals and that electronic element that gives it the extra dimension. ‘Bury Me Alive’ builds and builds through its 4-minute running time, hitting pretty much all of the must have sections that a song needs to take off these days. Self Deception should be getting more attention when they’re putting out songs of this quality, be the change people!

That’s all for this edition, thanks for reading! Don’t forget you can check out all the tracks we’ve reviewed this year on the playlist below:
