A trio of North West England indie musicians came together to form a band with a bit of an obsession over 90s nostalgia. Hence the delightful play on the name of the best phone ever made. Broody from the off, this three-piece has taken inspiration from almost all of the indie sphere while dipping their toes in a touch of alt-rock too, with gentle verses that build up to each chorus before settling back a little more chaotic than the previous started. This is what almost of a decade of releasing music together sounds like.
Everfall – Deadly Lies

The past few years has seen electronic metal make the sort of surge of popularity that only the nu-metal resurgence can top and bands like Everfall feel like they’re in a great place to capitalise. Songs like ‘Deadly Lies’ from May this year and more recently ‘bring u down’ are examples of the sort of bouncy yet riff-fuelled music that will stand the test of time. Vocally there’s a good amount of a mid-noughties metal vibe but behind that there’s a variety of styles. Ranging from choruses that feel straight up metal to verses that have more of a danceable swagger to them. Fun for all the family!
Messalina x Kabbel – Narrow Chase

French artists Messalina and Kabbel combined earlier this year to release ‘Narrow Chase’, a track taken from the former’s may EP, Golden Wounds. Deep and dark, ‘Narrow Chase’ is an all-encompassing piece of music that builds intrigue from the start with a slow piano line accompanied by sultry vocals before the beat comes in. Toeing the line between modern and classic, there’s a hypnotic feel to the song that absorbs your attention.
ochre – TROUBLE IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER.

Glaswegian outfit ochre released their latest EP, PEN., in July ’26, with TROUBLE IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER. being the final song of four on the record. There’s a simplicity to this track that feels almost rude to point out. Punky vocals over rolling guitars that explode into choruses and a consistently catchy drum beat. Sometimes writing a song that people want to listen to over and over again can be, or at least come across as if it is, as ‘simple’ as that. After all, if it really were that simple, everyone would do it.
Suffer UK – Soul From Flesh
Release Date: 29th May 2026
Closing out with some brutality from English death metal mob Suffer UK and their track ‘Soul From Flesh’. The song is the title track from their EP released just last week, though the track has had a couple more months out in the wild by now. The Midlands based five piece have managed to find that spot between being poundingly heavy and still accessibly catchy, though the dual vocal styles are unapologetically in the former camp. This is one to put on when you’re having a day where anxiety is kicking your ass and you need to kick back.
