Dream pop newcomers Wildernesses confidently emerge from their namesake with this debut single ‘Four Hour Drive’.

This candidly introspective track certainly hits the ground running from the start. Opening on decadently saturated, post grunge esque guitars and upbeat, four to the floor drum rhythms, these London shoe-gazers bring an air of familiarity and excitement throughout the tracks six-minute runtime.

In somewhat flipping the script, the track’s most memorable ear worms develop through the verses, leaving ample breathing room for when the distorted hooks drop into a vastly sparse instrumental passage around half way through. This hauntingly clean and melodically rich slow-core section plays out to the end, filled with lush echoing guitar passages, affirming that the group clearly has much more up their sleeves to be expected with further releases.
