Noiz Ritual – Embrace The Noiz
Release Date: 21st of May 2024
Greek 4+1 piece Noiz Ritual release early-2000s grunge and nu-metal inspired debut EP Embrace The Noiz. Filled with powerful vocals and distorted guitars, the EP introduces the band to a whole new audience worldwide.
The opening track ‘I Wanna Know’ is a strong opener, setting the tone with its booming drums and strong vocals. It almost transports you straight back to the early 2000s rock radio, truly letting their inspirations shine through. ‘Abuse Me’ throws you straight into a groove with the opening riffs and catchy melody. The song has probably the strongest hook of the whole album paired with an unexpected solo that really spices up the whole album.
With an opening riff reminiscent of the Power Rangers theme song, ‘Feeling Death Inside’ is another track that just pulls you in from the off. Heartbreaking lyrics detailing a messy relationship dynamic and abandonment are the main feature here, with the pace slowing right down after the opening riff and heavy guitars making up for the slower tempo later on.
Embrace The Noiz closes with ‘Robocop’ mixing robotic ad-libs and proggy guitars. It shows a great fusion of all the genres already featured, paired with a guitar solo which shows that even though the guitar track can be almost hidden away sometimes by the drums and vocals it is never forgotten. The robotic voice of Robocop telling the listener “Thank you for your cooperation. Goodnight.” is a great way of tying up the whole EP.
Overall, the Athens-based band really put themselves out into the world with the release of Embrace The Noise. It will be really interesting to see the band evolve and find their footing within the current alternative scene. It’s a great record for those who miss the unmatched vibe of the early 2000s MTV rock countdowns.
