The Tonics – Memories Won’t Drown
Release Date: 1st March 2024
Pushing themselves to do things the ‘proper’ way, The Tonics have had a busy year that has culminated in the release of their debut single ‘Memories Won’t Drown’. A track that combines catchy rock with vocals that have a touch of Debbie Harry and Lande Hekt about them. With plenty more in the tank from the Cheltenham band, 2024 could be a big year for them.
Tally Spear – Here Comes The Rain
Release Date: 9th February 2024
Written and performed by Tally Spear herself, ‘Here Comes The Rain’ is an emo-pop fusion track that hits all the markers of a track that you’ll be singing all summer. This modern track has hallmarks from the past few decades, bringing noughties melodies together with modern vocal styles.
Small Black Arrows – The British Museum
Release Date: 5th April 2024
Four and a half minutes of music that moves from jaunty rock through more artsy styles to indie pop is what faces a listener when ‘The British Museum’ hits the speakers. Small Black Arrows may only have five songs to their name so far, but they’ve created a sound that is unique (even so much as often sounding like different songs mashed together) and memorable.
Fury Of A Dying Planet – Captive
Release Date: 29th March 2024
A lot of music these days masquerades as having an ‘agenda’ of some sort but doesn’t necessarily commit to the supposed beliefs. ‘Captive’ from London-based Fury Of A Dying Planet goes above and beyond in painting a picture of the artist’s disgust at animal testing in the modern world. Chugging guitars and an expansive sound are the backdrop to passionate lyrics that fight the corner for those that can’t speak for themselves.
