Sarina – Hell Has Frozen Over
Release Date: 25th September 2026
Getting on for a month ago ‘Hell Has Frozen Over’ from Japanese artist Sarina was released. The track continues her trend of bringing alternative punk from the last couple of decades in line with modern music trends. Something which will surely, as anything ‘new’ will, split the purists. Not that Sarina will give a damn.
There’s a real simplicity to ‘Hell Has Frozen Over’. This isn’t a criticism though as there are multiple sections where the power of the vocals is allowed to just do its thing. In fact it is that simplicity that allows the meaning of the lyrics, focusing on giving those who have been overlooked in society, to breathe. Soft chords signify changing sections of the track, with keys backing the verses before a chunky guitar launches the choruses.
‘Hell Has Frozen Over’ is a modern singalong anthem that anyone that’s ever listened to Avril Lavigne or Olivia Rodrigo will recognise immediately.
