Interview with Alan from Life Of Agony

Hey, how are you?

Alan Robert: Doing well, thanks.

You’ve recently finished the UK tour. How was it?

AR: It was definitely a fun time and we saw a lot of familiar faces. We also hit some venues we have never been to. Our last stop was Camden’s Electric Ballroom, which was a great way to end it. The crowd there was amazing! We actually filmed some footage for an upcoming music video there with our filmmaker pal, director Leigh Brooks of Firebelly Films. Leigh shot our other videos “A Place Where There’s No More Pain” and “World Gone Mad.”

Any shows in particular that stood out?

AR: Glasgow, Scotland was a high energy crowd. That was a very sweaty, intimate show with a lot of smiling faces. Definitely a fun one.

Did you get to see much of the country or was it mainly spent behind glass between shows?

AR: We usually don’t get to do much of anything on tour outside of the shows, but this time the stars aligned for our day off in Manchester. It was actually the highlight of the whole run. Our drummer Sal is a super big Manchester United fan and he found out that they were playing Old Trafford on the day we were in town. The rest of the band had never been to a game so it was really something special to be a part of. We had a fantastic time at the game and they won! The crowd was absolutely electric! Awesome experience. I’m a new fan.

You had a great couple of bands supporting you in Aaron Buchanon & The Cult Classics and Blood Runs Deep. Did you get to catch much of them?

AR: Blood Runs Deep have been out with us before and it’s always great to see those guys. It was the first time I’ve seen or heard of Aaron and his crew. I know he previously sang for Heaven’s Basement, but I’m also not familiar with their music.

Do you have any idea when you’ll be back for those that missed you?

AR: We are putting together plans for 2018, but nothing concrete yet.

What have you got planned for the rest of the year?

AR: Since we got back from the UK, we had a bunch of East Coast shows. We played with Madball and Leeway in upstate NY and headlined a festival in Rhode Island. We play a sold out headlining set this coming weekend in NJ and then we fly out West to play Ozzfest Meets Knotfest in California with Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson. That will be the last show of the year for us.

Thanks for taking the time to do this. Any parting words?

AR: Hit www.lifeofagony.com for future updates. Thanks for the interview!
