Mortal Dream – The Final Sentence Underneath the Sadness of Saying Goodbye

Release Date: 7th June 2026

Following the release of debut single ‘Confessions on What May Be the Eve of Destruction’, it’s clear that Aussie metalcore outfit Mortal Dream have released ‘The final Sentence Underneath the Sadness of Saying Goodbye’. What more proof do you need that ‘naming songs like a noughties emo band’ is back and well. What is also living its best life, is a two minute piece of musical abuse that allows you to work out all of those pent up stresses. Powerful from the off, packed with riffs and breakdowns and don’t forget some of our favourite metalcore vocal ticks. There are far worse ways to spend 121 seconds.

Atarka – Human Again

Release Date: 31st July 2026

When a band takes to the stage at Bloodstock and walks out triumphant with a legion of new fans, you know that they’re the real deal…and that’s what happened with Atarka this month. With new single ‘Human Again’ in tow, the band are starting to take to the sorts of stages that anyone with ears knows they deserve to play. Last month’s ‘Human Again’ is the perfect showcase for a band that have been steadily growing over the past few years, combining the brutal drumming and powerful vocals that sit at the forefront of the track with some of the grooviest guitar work Birmingham has produced in years.

A Very Special Episode – Too Cool

Release Date: 31st July 2026

Taking a large step towards a softer tone, American indie rockers A Very Special Episode came back in July with their new single ‘Too Cool’. The intriguing opening riff with pique interest before the spoken, almost whispered in your ear, vocals kick in and you’re transfixed. Taking on that quiet-loud-quiet vibe that grunge loved so much, the chorus is a barrage of catchy bass and repeated lyrics, with the title being forced into your psyche.

The Dayjobs – Amazon Girl

Release Date: 29th April 2026

Staying in North America with a dose of 90s/noughties punk with a sci-fi (hopefully) twist. The catchy track on the surface could seem a little problematic in the first half, with the focus being a married man’s obsession with his delivery driver. Turns out there’s a few twists along the way and you’ll be as transfixed with the story as you will with the garage punk stylings and need to go whip out your skateboard and see if the old knees can still hack it (they can’t).

Meant More – Ceiling Duty

Release Date: 14th August 2026

Meant More are a British pop-punk-rock duo from London that are just beginning their journey into making everyone obsession with just how danceable their music is. Debut track ‘Talk is Cheap’ saw the light of day in June, with new single ‘Ceiling Duty’ following it last week and showing that this is a duo that have settled into their sound immediately. Seemingly genre fluid, it feels like this pair are going to be making a name for themselves quickly. Vocals that feel straight off the west coast of the USA backed up with music that is so bouncy it’ll find its way into your brain for hours at a time.

Sam Sample – Tax

Release Date: 17th August 2026

Some songs are just quintessentially America. It won’t take too many seconds to think of examples and ‘Tax’ from Sam Sample who has spent the last couple of years walking the line between punky-rock and Americana. ‘Tax’ feels like the culmination of those years of work. If you’ve listened to Bowling For Soup or watched the Disney movie Cars and can imagine merging the two, Sam Sample seems to be what you’d end up with. A heartfelt pop-punk romp.
