If ‘Recover’ from Leeds based Destroyer are anything to go by, there’s about to be a surge in filthy, grungey rock coming out of West Yorkshire and we should all be happy about this.
‘Recover’ is a track that takes aim at those who don’t believe in you and those two think you just don’t have what it takes. The wonderful thing about alternative culture is that for everyone that says you can’t do it, there’s a room full of sweaty folk that will shout otherwise at you.
From the very outset of ‘Recover’, you just know that it’s going to be the sort of song you want to let loose to in a sweaty dive bar. The ones with beer mats as decoration and a stain on the ceiling that you just have to know what caused it. Raw from drums to vocals, this is authentic, underground rock that soothes the soul.
