New Music Roundup – 13th April 2026 – Feat. Baccuda, Archaic Sin, Reliquia and more…

Baccuda – I Don’t Care

Release Date: 10th April 2026

Punk was always meant to be hectic and Baccuda are living that ethos with latest single ‘I Don’t Care’.  At under two minutes (like all good punk songs should be), this feels like punk getting back to what it does best – punchy drums, frantic guitars and raw vocals that are used to make the point, not be the point. If you end up watching Baccuda live, it had better be in a grotty pub with beer dripping from the ceiling.

Archaic Sin – Awake

Release Date: 9th April 2026

Archaic Sin have released ‘Awake’ as their third track, a song that borders classic rock in places but feels like a mid-noughties alt-rock romp for the most part. The vocals are rough around the edges, the guitars go from echoey and twinkly to riffy and then back again and there’s an overwhelming feel of nostalgia across the track.

MojoPin – Out The Door

Release Date: 27th March 2026

Within seconds of ‘Out The Door’ starting you’ll be getting visions of 90s grunge legends. That’s not an accident, MojoPin are looking to bring back those delightful grunge tones and based on the four tracks they’ve released to date, they look to have perfectly positioned themselves between Alice In Chains and Silverchair, with a touch of Blind Melon in there too. If you’re a fan of 90s alt-rock and still own plaid shirts, MojoPin need to take up space front and centre in your next playlist.

Sweet Fig – CSHG

Release Date: 9th April 2026

American pair Sweet Fig feel like the exact sort of band that you walk past at a festival and all of a sudden are captivated and can walk no further. Vocalist Anna Nastase is as addictive a listen as you’ll find in alt-music, her words floating atop a soundtrack that varies from delightfully twinkly to gritty and heavy. A song that implores you listen again.

Reliquia – Bone and Shale

Release Date: 6th April 2026

Born in Manchester, England, Reliquia are using their surroundings as a jumping off point. The fact that ‘Bone and Shale’ is a deliciously atmospheric, gothic rock track either makes Manchester a place to avoid like the plague, or venture to every year. Dealer’s choice really. ‘Bone and Shale’ as a track though is slow, brooding and just a little bit dark. Vocally straight out of the 80s and feeling like it would make an ideal film soundtrack, there’s just so much to love here.

Featherweight – Hardship Always Brings A Friend

Release Date: 7th April 2026

Post-hardcore can often prove to be divisive, with people either not vibing with the vocals or what lies behind them. Featherweight seem to have found a lovely balance between the two though with clean vocals that are still a little imperfect but a wholly accessible and soaring guitars that border on metalcore in places while still maintaining that emotional underbelly. A powerful song that will have your attention and keep it.
