The release of a first single is a scary time in a band’s career. No amount of gigging quite prepares you for the fact that these days, as soon as you release that song anyone in the world can tell you their opinion on it. For Rose Hound, that debut single saw the light of day in April in the form of ‘Keys to the City’.
While this is the band’s first single, it’s clear almost immediately that this is a group of musicians with experience. With most of that experience seeming to come during the heyday of indie in the noughties. Inspiration from those areas pours out and if you close your eyes, you’ll be back to watching The O.C. in no time, with that Minnesota drawl able to elevate any mood, alongside bouncy drums and obscenely catchy guitars. There’s no doubt whatsoever that you’ll be singing and jumping along in no time.
