In our run of single reviews we’re moving into heavier territory today with Northern Irish death metal mob Congenital Abnormalities and their new single ‘Through The Passage Of Decay’.
At just over four minutes the track is a showcase for how brutal metal can be, but even with the screams, howls, and sheer chaos there is an element of beauty. The album artwork is the first example of this, nightmare-inducing and satisfying all at the same time.
2022 saw some change for the band, a new vocalist being the biggest, and it seems that this has had a positive impact overall. ‘Through The Passage Of Decay’ is the giant punch in guts that 2023 from a band that are showing some real promise.
