A week since release, we still can’t get enough of the new single from brand, spanking new American genre spanners Widower. The single, ‘Slow Burn’, is the first to be released from an as-of-yet unannounced album, (shush! Don’t tell your friends….but if you do let slip I’d say to get on their socials and be paying attention over the coming weeks).
The track lives up to the name it was given immeasurably, using up all of the near-five-minute run time to reach a powerful crescendo. All elements working in harmony, belying the fact that this is a two-piece.
Vocals that penetrate the soul, big choruses that beg to be sung along to, and big contrasts between each segment of the track. This isn’t a gentle nod of hello from the Massachusetts duo, this is a Kool-Aid Man style burst in through the wall while no one is paying attention. 2023 just got a bit more exciting.
