Albums of The Year 2021: Gary Davidson

1.Sugar Horse – The Live Long After

The Live Long After is a debut that delivers on all the promise shown on the bands first three EP’s. Along with the humorous song titles Sugar Horse has continued on its genre hopping style whilst maintaining a focus on each song. From the shoegaze ‘Dadcore World Cup’ to the anthemic ‘Phil Spector In Hell’, or the epic post-metal ‘Shouting Judas At Bob Dylan’ to the abrasiveness of ‘Fat Dracula’, Sugar Horse supplies melody and heaviness by the barrel load. With so many ideas executed so well it’s impossible to know what the next track will bring and creates an impeccable album.
