Joan Smith & The Jane Does – Help Me Out
Release date: 30th March 2020
Kicking off with a steady beat and dirty riff ‘Help Me Out’ is the latest single from Canadian rockers and a track that describes in a desperate fashion the need to get out of an abusive relationship. Something that is sadly becoming more and more relevant the crazier this world gets.
The track stays pretty consistent throughout with choruses feeling like extensions of verses, a loop that is probably not too dissimilar to the feeling of being trapped as the song describes. The repeated lyrics of “Help Me Out” have the feeling of distress more and more through a song that hold a strong atmosphere despite the unhappy subject matter.
Joan Smith & The Jane Does have tackled a tough topic in such a manner that it would be easy to miss the whole point of the song, it’s rocky and ballsy and a rock track that everyone will be able to get behind.
