New Music Roundup – 14th April 2025

Sempre Caoz – Destroyer Of Worlds

Release Date: 13th March 2025

With the intention of exploring the ‘destructive power of human relationship’, Sempre Caoz’s eclectic new single “Destroyer of Worlds” is as raw as it is multifaceted. The spoken word passages creep from narration to full projection as the track unexpectedly flits between elements of folk punk, post grunge and experimental rock. This track is loaded with a surprising attention to detail in something so stripped back.

NECROTTED – Deus Ex

Release Date: 3rd April 2025

Fantastic news for those who like their Deathcore tunes fast and gutturals low, as southern German metal heads NECROTTED return with this distinctively high octane new single “Deus Ex”. Mercilessly heavy straight from the start, this track slams with machine gun blast beats, ferocious thrash style riffs and cacophonies of throat tearing bellows.

Comastatic – ZORRO

Release Date: 5th February 2025

‘ZORRO’ is another frenetic track from Swiss modern-rock duo Comastatic. The pair have a ‘finger on the pulse’ vibe when it comes to their overall style, blending the past twenty five years of alternative music into tracks around that three minute mark. Taking on themes of breaking free from the society’s expectations, the tracks are packed with soul too.

KC Blackwater – Every Time I Clock In (Frances Perkins Rolls In Her Grave)

Release Date: 14th March 2025

As catchy as the title is wordy, the latest track from KC Blackwater is a track that can push the Milton Keynes’ 5-piece outfit into the spotlight alongside peers such as Kid Kapichi and Snayx. Unsurprisingly, the track takes aim at the relentless nature of the unfulfilling 9-5 with bouncing guitars and catchy vocal lines throughout. All that’s lacking is a hook in the chorus that gets it fully into ‘earworm’ territory.

Hidden Youth – Vignette

Release Date: 21st February 2025

The debut single from Leeds emo’s Hidden Youth feels like taking a time machine back a couple of yea….decades to the late 90s and noughties. ‘Vignette’ belies the fact that is song one from the band as it transitions from softer vocals through to more frenetic shouts all while being backed by melodic rock that will have you swaying at a minimum. Hidden Youth are an exciting prospect if this is how they’re starting!

Sick As Thieves – Trigger Warning

Release Date: 22nd January 2025

South-east London based Sick As Thieves are steadily becoming a band to watch. With music based in the 70s and 80s but with a very modern twist to it. The track is almost impossible to pigeon hole, with influences ranging from classic metal to modern post-hardcore. ‘Trigger Warning’ is a track begging for circle pits, especially when the bass kicks in after two and a half minutes. Good luck standing still. Not that you’ll want to.
