Bad Plans – help me help me
Release Date: 27th September 2024
Modern dark metal vibes are pouring out of ‘help me help me’. Whether it be the intrigue born from the song title or the intro with its industrial vibes, there’s so much to digest on this track. Fans of modern alt-rock artists that are looking for something a bit more brooding will likely find themselves pulled in by a song that is as alternative as it is catchy and accessible.
goldenbloom – HEating
Release Date: 6th April 2024
British punks goldenbloom are back again with single number seven. Five years after their first release the band are taking their time, but it does feel like the time is right for this modern punk outfit to push on. With the likes of Kid Kapichi and Snake Eyes doing similar, there’s definitely room for a band that are a little more chaotic. ‘HEating’ may only be track number seven from the band, but it’s a decent catalogue to sing your teeth into. What are you waiting for?!
Codespeaker – Verte
Release Date: 13th September 2024
We’re just a few weeks away from the second Codespeaker album and tracks like ‘Verte’ are the perfect taster for what is an exciting prospect. Fans of Black Peaks are likely to find a home here, though it certainly isn’t a copy. There’s a more shoegaze feel to the verses, before what is a huge explosion of energy through the chorus. Get this turned up loud and you’ll go from sailing away through the relaxing sections to losing yourself in the power seconds later.
KOYO – Electric Eel
Release Date: 4th October 2024
KOYO have been buzzing around for the past few years, not quite making the leap up a level. At some point soon though, that is going to change and it is likely to be as the band’s third album, Onism, is released in a few weeks. ‘Electric Eel’ is one of the lead singles from the record and continues the band’s funky psychedelic alt-rock journey. There’s no chance you’ll be ably to resist the sheer joy that dancing along to the band evokes.
