New Music Roundup – 7th August 2024

Wodan Boys – Power

Release Date: 20th June 2024

Modern hard rock with a tinge of the indie brush saw Dutch rockers Wodan Boys release ‘Power’ towards the end of June. Catchy throughout and with enough energy to get anyone off their feet, the track struts through three and a quarter minutes. Some songs feel like they’re really trying to be something, ‘Power’ just is rock through and through.

Tilly Kingston – Fairytales And Horror Stories

Release Date: 12th July 2024

Claiming something like being ‘not like other pop artists’ can lead to some pretty cruel comparisons. Sometimes though, it’s true. Enter Tilly Kingston. An artist where, in truth, if all other pop artists were like this the world would probably be a better place. Yes, it’s catchy, but there’s so much more going on here. Those squeaky vocals combined with some hunky riffs and pop-y breakdowns just gives the whole track something a bit fresh.

Banged Out – Heaven Sent

Release Date: 3rd June 2024

Heaviness from the U.S. comes courtesy of metallic hardcore outfit Banged Out and ‘Heaven Sent’, a track that is already a couple of months old somehow. Chaotic and brutal throughout, ‘Heaven Sent’ is a reminder that heaviness is often accessible. Sharp, shrieking vocals, heavy guitars and drums that resonate inside you. Banged Out have arrived.

Omens Before Hysteria – Anvil

Release Date: 13th June 2024

Intricate drumming is the shining light from Omens Before Hysteria’s ‘Anvil’. The Italian’s latest track features a mixture of core stylings that come together seamlessly to create an atmosphere of experimentation and energy. Vocally disruptive with various sections of the song split out but not feeling broken off from the track. This is a fun one!

HEAD DENT – Dirt

Release Date: 17th June 2024

Catchy punk with a gritty underbelly comes courtesy of British punks HEAD DENT and their latest track ‘Dirt’. Despite coming out six or so weeks ago, it feels like the track has a lot more legs in it yet, especially within the live setting that punk bands really come alive in. If the on stage energy matches their studio work then this is a band you’ll be hearing a lot more about.
