New Music Roundup – 11th June 2024

Earth Groans – Chasm

Release Date: 21st May 2024

Metalcore from South Dakota, USA that has many a tie in to the heavier side of punk sees Earth Groans release their latest track, ‘Chasm’. The track starts huge and doesn’t budge, bringing energy from start to finish, save for a few seconds of drum and bass inspired interlude. This is the sort of song where the choruses have you thinking back to the last pit you were in, willing it no to be long until the next one.

Bad Sauna – Seinät kaaaaatuuu

Release Date: 30th May 2024

Scandinavian indie from Bad Sauna is here to just brighten up your day that little bit. Whilst it’s partially just nice to hear music that isn’t in English sometimes, with Seinät kaaaaatuuu being in their native Finnish, there’s a fun undertone to the track’s guitar tone. That’s despite the fact the song is about those moments where you feel like you can’t do anything right. Thankfully, for Bad Sauna, this track is not one of those moments.

RAIDE – Pain Is Weakness (Leaving The Body)

Release Date: 1st June 2024

In just their second year of releasing music, American metal outfit RAIDE are back with track five: ‘Pain Is Weakness (Leaving The Body)’. In a track that leaves nothing on the cutting room floor, RAIDE are doing their bit for proving that modern metal core doesn’t all sound the same. Bruising guitars and a breakdown that you can feel through your speakers, there’s lots to be excited about here.

The Rills – I Don’t Wanna Be

Release Date: 28th May 2024

British indie pinks The Rills have been doing the rounds for what feels like forever but are finally starting to take that next step up towards household name. As catchy as anything you’re likely to hear, when the choruses kick in the brain immediately goes to beer flying up and bouncing commencing. Hell, get the right place and there may even be pits.

Le Destroy – Autonomy

Release Date: 29th May 2024

A distinctly European feel comes out of ‘Autonomy’, the latest track from the modern industrial punks that are Le Destroy. Fast-paced drums and guitars to match are the main highlights on a track that feels like one constant high. As with a lot of industrial-influenced music, the song has a dystopian soundtrack vibe to it and the dramatic and desperate vocals add even more layers. Get this and the new album on now!
