Everrest – Emergency
Release Date: 1st June 2024
‘Emergency’ from Austin, Texas, USA alt-metal band Everrest is the latest in a catalogue of music that is seeing them grow not just at home but around the world too. With a modern sound that feels familiar for those that listen to the likes of Bad Omens and I Prevail, ‘Emergency’ has an atmospheric feel to it with soaring electronic effects behind pop-style vocals.
Damned To Dirt – Corrosion
Release Date: 31st May 2024
There’s an old-school feel to ‘Corrosion’ from British grunge outfit Damned To Dirt. From the very intro you can feel there’s a layer of grime on the track that is straight out of that early noughties style and once you add in a chunky bassline and some heavier riffs through the choruses you get a journey through a couple of decades of music. A comforting track for those worries when grunge may make its comeback.
Cross Dog – Enemy
Release Date: 7th June 2024
Canada just does hardcore punk better. Whenever you see that flag next to the name of a band in this genre you just know you’re in for a good time and ‘Enemy’ from Cross Dog is no different. Full of energy from the start, ‘Enemy’ is, quite shockingly for a song of this type, almost four minutes long. Tracey A’s lead vocals are powerful and this three-piece is using all of its decade of experience as a band to just push the boundaries of what you can do with drums, bass and vocals.
Thirteen Goats – Sign of the Goat
Release Date: 4th June 2024
At almost five minutes long, ‘Sign of the Goat’ is quite the slot. That’s a compliment by the way. There’s just so much energy, so much guitar and so much of a neck workout as the track progresses that you’ll be left a shell of your former self by the end of it. The fact that this is the opener to their new album is a testament to what the band is trying to put out there. This is huge. Get it on loud!
