New Music Roundup – 24th April 2024 – Part 2

Misfit Alley – Alter Ego

Release Date: 19th April 2024

‘Alter Ego’ is just the ninth track from German alt-rockers Misfit Alley. Written, recorded, mixed and mastered in their home studio, ‘Alter Ego’ is the culmination of a few years of growth for a band that are showing they’re ready to take that next step. From the intro it is clear that this track is going to go huge. Combining soaring electronic sounds and dual vocals the song just builds and builds through all three minutes.

Fake Plastic – The Long Night

Release Date: 20th April 2024

Taken directly from the rehearsal studio, German rockers Fake Plastic are a band bringing old school rock vibe together with a punky vibe. Plus some insanely catchy bass during the verses. ‘The Long Night’ is a track that feels like it’s straight out of the 70s in terms of the flow of the song. The real highlight of the track is how real it sounds. The vocals aren’t altered to within a millimetre of what the vocalist actually sounded like. A genuine track for that feels like it could be your mates down the pub playing it.

Heavy On The Heart. – Smokin’ All The Weed

Release Date: 20th April 2024

Irish-inspired music has poured out of the US for a long time and Celtic punk inspired rockers Heavy On The Heart. are looking to add their name to the growing list of bands that have got the world dancing. Whilst usually the topic seems to be drinking, ‘Smokin’ All The Weed’ takes a slightly different (and oh so subtle) approach.  The track is an all-round fun affair that will leave your smile wide, your feet aching and your soul a little warmer.

Dead End Scene – Rise To Fall

Release Date: 14th March 2024

Scandinavian music often goes a little too dark for most, taking it to the extreme and not looking back. Dead End Scene are doing things a little differently though. Bringing proggy elements into their melodic metal, the band are building a strong presence for themselves locally and looking to push that further. Doing everything themselves, the band brings together several vocal styles, from gritty 80s rock to soaring cleans, and brings them together with an energy that will have you gurning throughout.

Too Close For Comfort – PLAYING THE FOOL

Release Date: 5th April 2024

American based alt-rockers Too Close For Comfort are taking bringing a touch of rap vocal stylings to ‘PLAYING THE FOOL’ as the fast-paced track track travels the rock subgenres, taking in alt, punk and a touch of nu. Leaving no listener sat down, the track has a unique feel to it but what stands out most is the lyrical content that takes aim at the oppressors in power. Anyone using a soapbox to better the world deserves a listen.
