Frequency Overload – The Pain Factor
Release Date: 24th February 2024
In a time when everyone wants to discuss which subgenre can be split a little further, few bands are looking to just write and play some metal. No messing about, just riffs, pounding drums and then riffs again. From the intro you can hear that ‘The Pain Factor’ has hallmarks of those mega-bands that arose from the 70s and 80s. Raw and fast throughout, Frequency Overload is a project that may be in its early days but it is one that has the potential to snowball.

Squidge – Truck
Release Date: 1st March 2024
Alt-punk outfit Squidge are a band that have been on the circuit now for a few years, enjoying success with tracks such as ‘Disappear Reappear’ but not getting anywhere near the recognition that they deserve. ‘Truck’ has every possibility of being the track that breaks them through. From the start the track is fast-paced and you just know this is going to be huge live, especially when things slow down slightly in the middle. The guitars coming back in is a punky moshers dream.
Hands First – Actor
Release Date: 17th November 2023
Written about the experience of life moving too fast and seemingly in a prescribed manner for many, ‘Actor’ is second track from hardcore punks Hands First and their debut album Sorrow. Aiming to build a life that is a tad more meaningful, ‘Actor’ is a song to lose yourself to, mentally and physically. Live this track is going to go huge with its short, quipped vocals and huge energy throughout. With Sorrow now out, this is a great time to get onboard with an exciting American band.
A Moment Of Violence – My Endless Nightmare
Release Date: 5th January 2024
With a sound straight out of the early to mid noughties, A Moment Of Violence are putting a modern spin on that melodic, metalcore vibe. The south-Floridians bring sparkling cleans together with grittier almost spoken sections along with gripping guitars that will be a throwback for fans of bands like Parkway Drive and KSE.
