Formed in 2020, AMORIST fuse elements of hardcore, metalcore, punk, and emo to create their own signature sound. Since their incision, AMORIST have honed this sound from the frenetic punk of their demo, to the emo-infused hardcore of ‘BRUISER’, and now into their upcoming single, ‘SCALPEL’.
‘SCALPEL’ represents AMORIST’s ongoing dedication to growth and evolution both stylistically and lyrically. Rooted in a strong DIY ethos, ‘SCALPEL’ is another entirely self-produced offering from the South-East hardcore outfit drawing influence from bands such as BEARTOOTH, BETTER LOVERS, LOATHE, BRING ME THE HORIZON, and BAD OMENS. Thematically, AMORIST explore themes of imposter syndrome, ego-death, and sobering self-reflection drawing influence from Greek and Norse mythology to present a starkly juxtaposed and candid offering.
‘SCALPEL’ will be self-released by AMORIST on January 30th 2024, signalling the start of a new era for the band.
