Heading over to the States for our next venture into recently released singles and back to mid-January too. The band in question is From States Away and the track ‘Held Me Down’.
At just 150seconds the track is almost gone as quickly as it starts, but this ode to loved ones is an energetic singalong that pulls mostly from punk rock but with a dose of pop punk in there too, especially towards the end of that second minute.
Wherever the inspirations lie though, it’s nice to hear vocals that have a bit of raspiness to them alongside guitars that feel like they pack a punch all the way through. This could be the start of a fan favourite of ours.
