Gallery: Mangata Festival Day Two 17/07/22

It was one of the hottest weekends in the UK, so Rebecca decided she would take a team down to the first year of the Mangata Festival to sweat it out altogether. Here you will see photography done by Rebecca and, Ruby does any words you may see. Here are the day two activities:

Wilted Flower:

“Wilted Flower’s acoustic melancholy and vocals that carry so much sadness and grief that their music leaves you tearful, yet you can hear the sheer beauty of said sadness in their music.”

Mortal No More:

“Balancing between being a rock and a metal band, Mortal No More has a unique sound that is not to be missed. You get heavy riffs in one song, gentle vocals in the next and when you least expect it, you suddenly get hit in the face with charged spoken words.”

Crosslight:

“Crosslight are Nottingham’s edgy answer to Paramore. Their angsty pop/punk songs are just enough speckled with that typical Paramore sound without taking away from their own unique style.”

Altered:

“Beastly growls, thick riffs, and unapologetic lyrics mixed with melodic interludes and a bassist with some epic cat shorts. Altered certainly don’t need to be altered anymore, these guys are on the right track to a larger stage.”

Blight Town:

“Blight Town sounds like a more refined and mature version of some well-known early 2000 punk rock bands. These guys also know how to make you sway along to their progressive sounds laced with clever lyrics. An absolute delight to listen to.”

7eventh Sea:

“7eventh Sea’s DNA consists of pure Metalcore. These guys have mastered the art of knowing when to move from melodic to heavy as f*ck riffs. When to switch from emotionally charged singing to brutal growls and back again.”

Chuggaboom:

“Talented as hell. Flawless. Entertaining. It’s hard to find words that do Chuggaboom justice. Their abilities are just so vast, you have to listen to them to understand how good they are. These guys can make a metalcore cover of a song like ‘7 Rings’ and turn it into the best version I have ever listened to.”

Miscreant:

“Unapologetically aggressive attitude, dark and smooth sounds combined with soft vocals that every now and again turn into assaultive growls, Miscreant just have a way of getting you hooked to their exceptional sound.”

Cage Fight:

“The powerhouse vocals from extreme vocalist Rachel Aspe are the backbone of Cage Fights’ well-known sound. The self-proclaimed hardcore punk band is meant to be enjoyed live – and I mean in the middle of a mosh pit!”

Blood Youth:

“Blood Youths songs are packed full of razor-sharp aggression, impactful lyrics, crushing drum beats, and overall explosive energy. Add to that their force of nature-like presence on stage and you can’t instantly become a fan of these guys.”

Oceans Ate Alaska:

“Oceans Ata Alaska has such a unique sound that you can’t really put them in your usual Metalcore box. Their songs have so many stops, turns, and changes they almost make you dizzy. However, Oceans Ate Alaska has this skillful way of making it all work and end up creating weirdly fluid and beautiful songs.’’
