Singles Only: Mid-Year Catch Up 1

Subterranean Street Society – Weapons Of Mass Destruction

Release Date: 2nd April 2021

Genre: Rock

From the album released at the back end of 2020, ‘Weapons Of Mass Destruction’ is littered with influences found throughout the history of rock music. The most prominent seem to be the 60s/70s style guitars but with darker vocals and an even darker storyline this isn’t a carbon copy of anyone.

Despite being around three minutes long the time flies by, likely due to the intense and consistent vibe the track holds on to. This just isn’t your standard rock track.

TrueShot – Deadbeat Lullaby

Release Date: 9th April 2021

Genre: Metalcore

An ode to a departed father, ‘Deadbeat Lullaby’ doesn’t hide at all, unleashing itself immediately and setting a chunky, heavy stall out quickly.

Written by vocalist Richard Janvin, the emotional vocals reflect the lyrics perfectly. TrueShot may be coming into the technical, metalcore scene late but they’re doing it well.

Ida Maria – Sick Of You

Release Date: 2nd April 2021

Genre: Pop-Punk

“I’m so sick of you, I’m so sick of you”, opening lyrics that you’ll struggle to find anyone that hasn’t muttered in the past year or so. Thankfully, in a way, this isn’t about that ruddy virus, but about people around you.

Following the pattern of other recent tracks, ‘Sick Of You’ is an energetic and fun affair that will have you singing along in no time.
