The slow, slow opening minute of ‘Linear’ are the perfect intro to a song that feels like it is laced with emotion throughout. White Bay are a band in the ilk of Tool and any contemporaries that they may have, but not quite like any of them either.
‘Linear’ is about as misleading a song title as you can come across as the track journeys through various paces with the only constant being the intensity that is carried through the song, even coming through as a sense of urgency during the solo.
This is a song that will benefit from multiple listens. It’s not a flash in the pan, disposable track like much of modern music can be, it’s a song to be nurtured and appreciated. Best get started.
