ArcTanGent just smashed out another corker of a lineup announcement and added some of the best bands around to a lineup already featuring the likes of Opeth, Tesseract, This Will Destroy You and Ihsahn.
Probably the most notable band and one of the most exciting additions is Swans. The always evolving and never compromising band have proved that they can master whatever they put their minds to whether it’s noise rock, ethereal passages or catchy vocals. They can be brutal or they can be sweet, but they’re always excellent live. It’s been a few years since they last graced the UK so the anticipation is high from us at MNN.
Joining Swans are Leicester born post-rock titans, maybeshewill, they’re one of the very best bands of their genre and a firm favourite among its fans. Similarly. the ArcTanGent lineup boasts the inclusion of Leprous who are continuing to pioneer modern prog rock.
If heaviness is what you’re after at ArcTanGent, Oathbreaker will bring it all and more. The band match intricacy and the extremity of rage and produced one of the greatest records of the last decade in 2016s Rheia, now is time to see where they go next and how the past four years has developed them. They’ll have competition for the heaviest band of the festival in Swans, but also the harsh and brutal metal of Car Bomb.
The lineup continues to be stacked with great bands the further down you get too with The Locust bringing their insane hardcore punk, A.A. Williams her soft, grand manner and The World Is a Beautiful Place and I Am No Longer Afraid To Die their new wave emo.
