Hey, how are you? The name MyChildren MyBride is pretty unconventional, is there any meaning behind it?
Robert: MYCHILDREN MYBRIDE is what a true man holds closest to his heart.
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never listened to your music before?
Robert: I wouldn’t categorise it into a specific genre. It’s definitely heavy music with many dynamics. Our earlier albums are a lot faster pace but over the years we’ve learned that there’s a lot of tools you can use to create your own dynamic.
The band have been through a lot of change in the past 13 years. Do things feel more settled now?
Robert: We have been through a lot. But I’d say everything has lead up to this album. This was what we’ve been wanting to create for many years.
It’s been 5 years since the last release. How have things changed for you since then?
Robert: We needed the time to connect with our family and friends. It’s easy to get caught up in the touring world while all your family and friends live a domesticated lifestyle. So it’s good to step back and ground yourself from time to time.
How do you think the self-titled album fits in with your catalogue?
Robert: The self titled album was a necessary step to get to where we are now. That was our set up to present Vicous World to the masses.
What have you got planned for the rest of the year?
Robert: We’ll be planning our live show for the remainder of the year. We have a couple merch stores coming as well. One will have exclusive and limited merch and another will be your everyday shirt or hoodie grab.
What’s does the MyChildren MyBride bucket list have on it?
Robert: We hope to be able to play some shows in places we’ve never been. Japan and South America are on our minds. We’re also trying to make this tour cycle different from everything we’ve ever done.
Thank you for your time. Any parting words?
