British metal comes in all shapes and sizes. Always has, always will. Which is fantastic news because it means the likes of Arkdown can drop can release tracks like ‘Parasite’.
The Sheffield based five-piece have been treading the boards across the UK for almost a decade now, and ‘Parasite’ joins ‘Counting Ghosts’ and ‘Breaking Point’ as their 2026 releases, with the former continuing to blend grooves and breakdowns as if they were born to be together.
From the outset, ‘Parasite’ feels like a modern metal track, hinting that it may be heading towards the ‘trendy’ before launching itself in a haze of riffs and death metal-esque drums. It’s when the first moment of respite comes around the 50 second mark that you realise that something is happening here and the first chorus hits at an anthemic level.
If you’re in the market for a band that are using their experience to create metal tracks that will have you stand up and fight, ‘Parasite’ may well hit the spot.
