Underground Roundup – 24th January 2026 Part 1 – Feat. Ffatri Jam, Culture Clash, Tigercub And More

Ffatri Jam – Fear The End

Release Date: 23rd January 2026

Not for the first time, we’re featuring Welsh alt-rockers Ffatri Jam as they release something huge. Sure, ‘Fear The End’ has soaring vocals, huge choruses and some beastly riff, but really it’s the tone of the lyrics that pull focus. A lot of the time bands sugar coat the dark times behind metaphor, but ‘Fear The End’ tackles pain and anxiety head on and that resonates so much more.

Tigercub – I’m Breaking Out

Release Date: 23rd January 2026

A little bit alt, a little touch of 00s indie, a tonne of rock, Tigercub continue to be one of the UK’s most exciting bands – with a fanbase that border on obsessive. ‘I’m Breaking Out’ is the second single released from their new album, Nets to Catch the Wind, out in April, and it continues to blend unrelenting bluesy riffs with vocals that toe the line between being raw and emotive yet almost sultry in places. Tigercub’s 2026 is going to be huge.

Gaijin Smash – Mountain

Release Date: 14th January 2026

Sometimes it’s nice to just get to the point and having a song title that’s just ‘Mountain’ certainly does that. That’s the simplest thing about the new Gaijin Smash track though as from the off energetic, punky guitars roll behind erratic dual vocals that showcase the Japan/Canada connection within the band. Yes, this is punk, but good luck keeping still. You’ll be up dancing with the rest of us in no time.

Culture Clash – Sanitizer

Release Date: 16th January 2026

Taking a step towards the more traditional, garage-style punk (in terms musical terms at least) we have Culture Clash and their tale of ‘The Cleaner’, a school cleaner who just loses his shit and goes on a rampage. “Give me more, give me more chloroform” has all the hallmarks of legendary crowd interaction just waiting to happen. If you like you punk to be a little less than serious, ‘Sanitizer’ is for you.

Omnifear – Phantom Tranquility

Release Date: 14th January 2026

Finishing on something a tad heavier, British metal outfit Omnifear have release ‘Phantom Tranquility’ from their upcoming EP. Unrelenting and likely to melt faces with riffs while pummelling your ribcage with drums…and that’s even before mentioning the harsh and broody vocals that will have you screaming along. If heavy is your bag, this needs to be pumped up loud.
