Leeds alt-rockers Foxhaunt have released their newest single ‘A New Beginning’.
The band share on the track, “‘A New Beginning’ marks a powerful turning point for us – both thematically and sonically. The song explores the journey of reclaiming one’s identity and freedom after being entangled in a toxic, manipulative dynamic. It’s about seeing through deception, processing emotional fallout, and ultimately choosing to start over. At its core, it’s a narrative of self-empowerment – of letting go of the past and stepping into a new chapter with clarity and purpose.
From a musical standpoint, this release represents a significant evolution for us as a band. We leaned into a heavier, more eclectic sound that reflects where we are creatively. This track felt like the ideal way to introduce that shift – darker, more dynamic, and unapologetically bold.
The writing process pushed us further than anything we’ve done before. We deliberately stepped outside of our comfort zone, experimenting with new sounds and chord progressions. Vocally, we drew inspiration from artists like Bad Omens and Bring Me The Horizon, aiming to craft melodies that are both haunting and hook-driven. To support that, we dropped our tuning – allowing the vocals to soar above a thicker, more aggressive low end. The result is a sound that feels fresh but still unmistakably us.”
