New Music Roundup – 5th January 2025

Baby Said – Sweet Talk

Release Date: 29th November 2024

Moody and groovy, ‘Sweet Talk’ saw Baby Said double down on the excitement for their upcoming album. With ‘123’ released in the gap between Christmas and new year, it’s clear to see that 2025 is going to be a big one. This south coast sister duo are creating gritty rock with melodic choruses without overcomplicating a genre which is simple at its core. Catchy and fun, the perfect track to whet the appetite.

Trash Faint – Inside Out

Release Date: 28th November 2024

Who doesn’t love a good collaboration?! Well luckily, ‘Inside Out’ from Trash Faint is proving to be very good indeed. The combination of CRASHFACE, DEAR TASH and Tom Saint, in all honesty, becoming greater than the sum of its parts as the punk rock vibes merge with electric electronic elements to create a modern sound that insists you dance to it. This party track needs to hit festivals in 2025!

Reliquia – Fear of the Light

Release Date: 9th December 2024

Slowing things down a little, ‘Fear of the Light’ is a gothic anthem that has echoes of those scenes in movies where the protagonist wanders through a European club. Haunting bells ring throughout, soft vocals adorn the artistic soundscape that becomes addictive the longer you listen. This is a fun one, even if it may not sound like it initially.

The Diomedes – Tales, Beware

Release Date: 21st October 2024

A catchy drum beat brings ‘Tales, Beware’ to life before utter filth is unleashed. The Diomedes have created a track that merges indie vocals with a grungy-doom set of instrumentals. Organised chaos is likely a good descriptor for this track. A track that will certainly have enough catchiness to it to send you deep into their catalogue.

The MARX – Nanny’s Homemade Marmalade

Release Date: 24th September 2024

If the name of the song doesn’t drag you in enough, the opening snippet of political chatter will do. The MARX’s track ‘Nanny’s Homemade Marmalade’ has been out for a few months now, filling us with deep regret that we’re only now bringing this punky hardcore track to your attention. Punchy throughout, the attitude pours out of the riffs and when you add in raw vocals on top you’re on to a bouncy winner. Enjoy.
