New Music Roundup – 28th November 2024

Kazea – Wailing Blood

Release Date: 20th November 2024

Making your debut as a band must seem more and more daunting as time goes on, what with the internet being a cruel mistress. Talent does often rule out though and that’s the case with ‘Waiting Blood’, the debut single taken from Kazea’s debut album, I. Ancestral. Slow and purposeful, the track consistently builds over the course of four minutes into a stonery, doom party.

Ending Everything – Slave To A City

Release Date: 15th November 2024

Tracking various influences through their second release, British alt-metal outfit Ending Everything continue to announce themselves on the scene with a varied sound that lands firmly in that ‘modern’ sound. Catchy guitars, bouncy drums and vocals that will land all over Europe. Just wish bands would stop using emergency service sirens in songs.

BRUISES – Cash in the Attic

Release Date: 8th November 2024

There’s a uniqueness to British relative newcomers BRUISES. A couple of years into their journey of creating music entirely aimed at living up their band name. Powerful and raw from start to finish, ‘Cash in the Attic’ (the song, not the daytime TV extravaganza) is going straight on repeat.

Butcher Babies – Sincerity

Release Date: 8th November 2024

A band that have made a massive name for themselves in the underground, building on a fun introduction by becoming a force within that vibe of ‘not quite hard rock-not quite metalcore’. Soaring vocals, addictive riffs and packed full of emotion. ‘Sincerity’ is huge.

prom – Joy Is…

Release Date: 8th November 2024

British emos prom came back with a new album earlier this month and from it ‘Joy Is…’ has been a true standout. Bringing a grungy vibe to the track, there’s a loud-quiet thing going on and combined with shoegazey vocals in places and screams in others, there’s plenty to get your teeth into here.

When I Wake – ihaveamapbutnocompass

Release Date: 10th September 2024

Just a couple of years have passed since When I Wake, a full-throttle metal band from Cheshire, formed and ‘ihaveamapbutnocompass’ (a title that is the bane of word counts around the world) is one of four tracks that form their debut EP. Combining heavy riffs and angry vocals, there’s no respite on a track that will have your neck hurting in no time.

Mesker – Not Myself

Release Date: 19th November 2024

Melodic-post-hardcore from two-piece Mesker is everything you want from a duo making emotive music. From the off, it’s clear that there’s a significant depth to their music, more than you might expect from a two-piece that’s for sure. With a new album out soon, this is the perfect tonic to get you through, one that will have you staring out of a window into a rainy landscape, literally or otherwise.

deegie – Hard To Be A Man

Release Date: 22nd November 2024

Who doesn’t love a bit of satire? Well, a certain group of people tends not to and they’re the ones that deegie is taking aim at on ‘Hard To Be A Man’. As long as you’ve got skin thicker than a sheet of A4 the track will give you a new summer anthem as we run into winter. Catchy pop-punk that takes itself as seriously as a panto, ‘Hard To Be A Man’ knows what it is and does it supremely well.
