UK folk horror band Forlorn have released their brand-new Stephen King inspired single ‘Spirit’, as well as sharing news that they’ve signed to Church Road Records.
Maintaining the same theme with their Earth inspired offering ‘Creatress’, Forlorn’s first single with Church Road is based on the fifth element of the same name.
Vocalist Megan Jenkins speaks on the single, “Feeling a connection between a bass synth in the instrumental of the song and the literal transformation one being makes into another, I took inspiration from the Stephen King novel ‘The Outsider’ and the concept of shape-shifting. There is so much that we cannot see and don’t connect to when we are caught up in the haze of our daily lives. There are forces, energies and beings that are all around us that we are blind to, and many people are OK with that. I connect so deeply to this idea of shape-shifting or “becoming other” through a desire to explore the unseen and travel beyond the confines of this human skin.”
Jenkins also comments on their signing to Church Road Records, “We are elated to join the roster of Church Road. An incredibly forward-thinking and ethically-minded record label, it is and has been the home of many artists we deeply admire. We welcome them into our inner circle and now look to our future with them and the horrors to come.”
Forlon have joined the Noizzefest line up in Cardiff in April, as well as supporting Cane Hill in Brighton next week. Tickets are available now.
