New Music Roundup – 11th October 2024

BackIVBlood – Freeland Of Filth

Release Date: 11th October 2024

South Wales-based metal in the form of ‘Freeland Of Filth’ from BackIVBlood is the perfect remedy for the days drawing in and the impending frosts. There’s little chance of keeping still as four minutes of groovy riffs and hardcore-esque vocals barrage the ears. Unrelenting and exciting, this may just be track three from the band but on this evidence, we hope it won’t be the last we hear of this band.

Deer Pilot – Big Dumb Mouth

Release Date: 11th October 2024

With a new album on the way, American rockers Deer Pilot are looking to get people pumped for it. ‘Big Dumb Mouth’ is the second release from their debut full-length release and is a track that will have you headbanging to the fuzzy guitars and drums as it will get you singing along to yourself to shut that “big dumb mouth”. This feels like the start of something exciting for the L.A. based band.

Wynona Bleach – I Deserve That

Release Date: 7th October 2024

Belfast is the home of many good things and aiming to add their name to the list is Wynona Beach, a band that have gone from strength to strength with their releases over the past six or so years. ‘I Deserve That’ is the second single released in 2024 following ‘Swim In the Bay’ and will have fans of the likes of Milk Teeth and False Advertising giddy. The new album that will drop in 2025 is shaping up to catapult these!

GRLwood – 17

Release Date: 11th October 2024

Whilst rock and metal is often best fast and loud, slowing it down sometimes is important too. Enter ’17’ by GRLwood, an artist that we’re starting to adore at Hardbeat. The track evokes feelings of fuzzy summer nights where you can just relax and let the world pass you by. This is quite ironic, though, given that the track focuses on a period in the life of Rej Foreseter, the person behind GRLwood, where opportunities were denied due to their environment. A heavy track that feels light as air.

Codespeaker – Rescission

Release Date: 10th October 2024

Another artist we’ve become obsessed with here is Codespeaker and new track ‘Rescission’ is just adding even heavier fuel to the fire. New album Scavenger is out soon and this song is the final piece of it we’ll get before release. Slow and intense throughout, ‘Rescission’ feels darker and even more full of doom than previously released tracks by the band. Something that we’re all in on. Bring on Scavenger.
