Lucky Shot – AINT GOTTA WAIT

Release Date: 28th June 2024

Fans of the likes of Turnstile have likely enjoyed a fun summer if Lucky Shot have found their way into their playlists. If not, well Autumn ain’t a bad time to lob ’em in. With similar, if not slightly more hardcore, vocals and an overall energy that just exudes confidence, ‘AINT GOTTA WAIT’ has a swagger that will will get everyone moving.

TRUTHTELLER – Ambulance

Release Date: 12th July 2024

With less than a year under their belt, TRUTHTELLER are a band that are hoping on the coattails of British punk rock and looking to push it on with even more grit than we’re used to in there. ‘Ambulance’ features chatty vocals and lyrics that challenge the status quo, taking particular aim at those that just don’t seem to be able to move into the 21st century. Beer is gonna fly.

A.D.A.M. Music Project – Thunderbolt

Release Date: 7th Jun 2024

An energetic rock track from a collaboration of modern artists that has a tinge of the 80s. ‘Thunderbolt’ kicks off feeling contemporary and fresh before bouncing into a pre-chorus and subsequent chorus sounding like a cross between some of the 80s biggest rock and pop artists. This track is a solid example of what collaboration across genres and generations can achieve.

Julie Neumark & Whiskey Flower – Why Not?

Release Date: 26th July 2024

An intro that’s borderline late 90s pop, with vocals that transcend genres mixed in sees ‘Why Not?’ become a song that will appeal to a wide audience. Dark and dreary at times, the track may have received a July release but feels like it will suit a good listen while the night’s draw in. This track is all about that atmosphere.

likethehotels – cosplay rockstar

Release Date: 28th June 2024

Punky post-hardcore from solo artist Ian Hilton AKA likethehotels sees the American release ‘cosplay rockstar’, a track that features vocals that could be mistaken at times for Frank Carter but with an overall vibe that sits a little further towards the post world of punk. Furiously energetic in parts, more experimental and considered in others, ‘cosplay rocker’ is a powerful introduction to this one man band.

LucyVivor – No Armour

Release Date: 7th July 2024

British alt-rocker and rapper LucyVivor dropped ‘No Armour’ in July, a track that brings together a modern electronic rock sounds that is solidified by guest vocalist and producer Jim White. The contrast between Vivor’s rapping and White’s gritty vocals has the track feeling like two separate songs fused together. The fact that it works so well is a testament to both and the raw, emotional lyrics throughout elevate it further.

Snake Eyes – Hottest Day On Record

Release Date: 9th July 2024

South coast punks Snake Eyes are a band that are on a massively upwards trajectory right now. 2024 has seen them continue their break out of the local scene and popularity is, deservedly on the rise. ‘Hottest Day On Record’ builds on the foundations that the band has been laying since 2021 and with this track there’s no reason to think that bigger things aren’t round the corner.

SOFT NO – Melting Timelines

Release Date: 12th July 2024

Philadelphia based rockers SOFT NO are at the very beginning of their career as a band, though the music that they take so much inspiration from is certainly not. Mixing the best of 90s alt-rock with a bucket load of shoegaze, SOFT NO are a band that are here for the atmosphere and the vocals on this track are beautiful. With just an EP to their name so far, you can sure big things are coming from these.

Queen Cult – To Be A Boy

Release Date: 12th July 2024

Another band on the up are Queen Cult, Cheshire’s queer alt-rock pioneers. Over the past few years they’ve been pushing the boundaries of the local scene and are at the point now that EP BE BETTER should be launching them on. ‘To Be A Boy’ is track four of five from the EP, a track that features powerful vocals and enough energy to get even the most stoic of rock fan bouncing. Keep your ears out for these!

Luna Falling – The Algorithm

Release Date: 9th August 2024

Luna Falling are an Ohio, USA based band that are telling the story of an AI that is out of control. Luckily for us they’re doing it with a modern metalcore sound. Latest album Ctrl + End was delivered to the world at the beginning of August and closer ‘The Algorithm’ sums up everything the band is about. Breakdowns, emotional vocals and intriguing lyrics throughout. Get this track and the album as a whole into your backlog!
