Wodan Boys – Power

Release Date: 20th June 2024

Hard rock from the Netherlands landed towards the end of June with ‘Power’ from Wodan Boys being another step in the Dutch band pushing themselves into the forefront of rockers around the world. An old school vibe combines with an almost QOTSA-esque style of guitars to create a track that feels grounded yet something you really want to get your drink on to.

VIDA – In Absence

Release Date: 11th June 2024

Based in Ontario, Canada, VIDA are back with their brand of post-hardcore on the track ‘In Absence’. Peddling more of a ETID style than AOF, there’s a funkiness to ‘In Absence’ that will have you dancing as much as bouncing. The track cruises as much as it cruises and is a definite summer hit.

Unsafe – Dolores

Release Date: 21st June 2024

French metal from three-piece Unsafe sees them face into their metalcore roots, though working with Fabien Devaux of Carpenter Brut means there’s no shortage of grooviness on the track. Working through several phases, there are hints of more classic metal styles behind the harsh vocals, all coming together to create a track that tells a story of pain and sadness.

BRUISES – Woe; Regret

Release Date: 21st June 2024

Bedfordshire rockers BRUISES are taking inspiration from just about everwhere on their latest EP, the home of track ‘Woe; Regret’. As the song transitions between bass and vocal sections, into some growls and through the heavier riffs it would be easy to get lost but instead it grows constantly. This will be a fun introduction to the band for any new fans.

3 Dollars – The Last Thing I Remember

Release Date: 21st June 2024

American punky rockers 3 Dollars sees ‘The Last Thing I Remember’ descend on our ears. Raw throughout, the track is a full-blown alt-rock bonanza with delightfully twinkly guitars lying underneath heartfelt lyrics. A fun and different listen for anyone branching into or out of alt-rock.
