Oxford-based band South Arcade have released their new single ‘Riptide’, telling the story of supporting someone you care about unconditionally when they are in a dark place, and how exhausting and confusing that situation can be.
Commenting on the track, the band say, “Riptide is a song we started a while ago but struggled with knowing where to take it. We came back to it having just seen a friend who was struggling and all the pieces just seemed to fit into place. It’s confusing and uncertain when not knowing how to help someone you really care about. But no matter what, leaving is not an option and that whenever they need you, you’ll be there for them. We loved playing it for our fans on our last tour and they seemed to relate to it as much as we did, so it seemed only right for us to release it.”
