Order Of Owls – Freedom(ination)
Release Date: 6th March 2024
Aussie metal band Order Of Owls are back again with their latest alt-hard rock, gritty and grimy track. Originally released in late 2023, the song is getting a new lease of life with a self-shot music video that you can (and should) hit play on now. The track is deeply atmospheric and feels like a throwback to the mid-noughties, though this is dirtier than most of what you will remember from the era.
Vesperine – Mouvement II – Interférence
Release Date: 5th March 2024
In their first release since 2021’s debut album, French artsy rockers Vesperine are looking to re-establish themselves as a force. Something they take little time doing on latest track ‘Mouvement II – Interférence’. A delicious soundscape oozes out of the track, venturing from more progressive elements into heavier sections seamlessly. Whilst music is often fun, this one has an intensity that will be hard to pass by.
shallov – Shut Up and Dance
Release Date: 22nd February 2024
Slovakian outfit shallov are a really intriguing listen. Spanning many genres, bringing emo elements lyrically but expansive post-hardcore musically, ‘Shut Up and Dance’ sees them take another step. 2024 is a decade since their debut EP No Place for Two and while it is obviously still the same band as it was ten years ago, the progression is clear to see. Here everything feels so raw and dynamic whilst being as tight as any band out there right now. This could mark the start of a really exciting year for these.
NOAPOLOGY – Defenseless
Release Date: 19th February 2024
Massive hard rock anthems with female vocalists are, thankfully, becoming more common. NOAPOLOGY are looking to add their name to the list and, if ‘Defenseless’ is anything to go by, they’ll be exploding any day now. Hard rock, bordering on melodic metal in places, brings Daria Zaritskaya’s addictive vocals smashing into Sergey Sershen’s riffy guitars. Together they’ve created a style based in the classic of the genres but feeling modern and unique.
The Serfers – Natural Disaster
Release Date: 29th February 2024
Finishing on some classic punky rock, British band The Serfers are here. ‘Natural Disaster’ is just the third release from the band following a couple in 2023 and their feel-good rock is something that will have people bopping from the very beginning. Catchy choruses that will be a joy to sing along with together with punky guitars means the track is a live hit waiting to happen.
