Matya – Get Your Attention
Release Date: 23rd February 2024
Alt-punk from Los Angeles kicks off the day as Matya brings ‘Get Your Attention’ to the world. Just her second single after ‘Nobody’s Home’ dropped in September ’23, the track builds on that debut release with an abundance of catchy vocals and a track that if you aren’t up and dancing to it, you’re doing something wrong. With 2024 now in full swing we’re starting to see some artists emerge as breakouts and Matya’s name is well and truly in the ring with ‘Get Your Attention’.
Gramofone – Call It Love
Release Date: 20th February 2024
Keeping with the catchiness, but in a very different way, we have Romanian rockers Gramofone. With over 10 years in the industry, the Bucharest based four-piece are basically veterans and new track ‘Call It Love’ lends itself to this idea. Tight from the off, the track is a funky indie rock track that has the hallmarks of a scene in a movie when people are sipping drinks in a bar. Effortlessly cool throughout, ‘Call It love’ is one of those tracks that can help a band explode.
Taken Alive – Don’t Sweat It
Release Date: 16th February 2024
Back to the US for a post-hardcore track from virtual novices Taken Alive. ‘Don’t Sweat It’ marks just the band’s seventh song released in their short time as a band, but it does a great job painting a picture of what they’re striving for. From the beginning there’s energy pouring out and if this track was part of a racing game soundtrack from the mid-noughties you wouldn’t be surprised. Choruses that beg to be sung back and packed with energy, ‘Don’t Sweat It’ is a live hit waiting to be heard.
The Warning – S!CK
Release Date: 9th February 2024
Living with siblings can be hard enough, let alone working and being creative with them. Well, not for The Warning, the Mexican trio of sisters that are changing the landscape of alt-rock one song at a time. ‘S!CK’ continues their passion of creating high-energy alt-rock tracks that pack more than a few punches. From start to finish ‘S!CK’ oozes attitude and is sure to pull in those sat on the fence.
