Jakke – Hurricane
Release Date: 1st December 2023
Splitting the difference between some of the more modern alt-rock vibes and some of those early 00s electronic infused bands, Jakke has released new track ‘Hurricane’, a track that encapsulates so much of what alternative music is turning to at the moment. Bands like Sleep Token are paving the way and Jakke is on that track too. Softer, pop-esque vocals combine with catchy beats and huge choruses that are stuffed full of theatricality. The finger is well and truly on the pulse with ‘Hurricane’ and if this is the route that Jakke is taking now it could well be an exciting journey for the American artist.

Drøver – Death Society
Release Date: 8th December 2023
Modern metal outfit Drøver only joined the world this year but they’re already sounding tight as hell. ‘Death Society’ is track three from the band but what is already clear is that you can expect hug, booming riffs, angry vocals and, well, and all round good time. ‘Death Society’ takes aim at the unjustness of the modern world and the German metallers have created a sound that is both heavy and in places melodic. By far the highlight of the track is towards the end as the breakdowns go about their thing. Metal bliss.

Chaosbay – Ecstasy
Release Date: 5th October 2023
Whilst not their latest track, ‘Facing Failures’ with Maelføy having been released a little later, ‘Ecstasy’ is the greatest advert for what Chaosbay are bringing to the world. Over a decade in the business, this German alt-metal outfit have refined their sound to be a euphoric combination of modern rock and heavier alt-metal. Beautiful cleans contrast raw drumming and the explosive declaration of the song title as each chorus reaches a crescendo. This is a powerful track both in terms of the huge guitars and the different vocal styles. A fun track throughout!
