Portside – Icarus

Midlands based genre spanners Portside released their latest track ‘Icarus’, a couple of days ago and it’s one bringing pop punk at the fore with a sprinkling of the more melodic side of hardcore.
The track itself is one big juxtaposition, one that brings the two influenced styles together nicely. There’s the soft vocals that for the most part are backed by softer punk stylings before heavier, yet certainly not heavy, guitars are pushed to the fore towards the end. Portside have the hallmarks of a modern band that can excite people.
