Every now and then a band comes along that you read something about and it takes you by surprise. For Dead Penance, the finding out that this is a duo, not a five-piece was said piece of information.
On first listen, ‘Hail Insanity’ just feels too big to be just the two which is a credit to the pair of them. The fact that this os a debut single is even more impressive. It showcases thunderous drums, death core style riffs and some filthy-ass vocals that just contort the face before you’ve even had the chance to control yourself.
Getting in on the ground floor is fun and it feels like that could be the opportunity being presented to you with Dead Penance in 2023.
