Following the return of Slam Dunk to Hatfield and Leeds earlier this month, we’re already salivating at the thought of next year’s edition as the festival have revealed the first names for 2022’s festival.
Topping the bill are post-Hardcore trailblazers Alexisonfire will finally make their Slam Dunk debut. Led by the contrasting powerhouse vocals of both George Pettit and Dallas Green, the Canadian quintet marry chaos, vulnerability, strength and sensitivity like no other band on the planet.
Fellow headliners Rancid return to the UK to also make their first appearance at the festival in news that is sure to act as a Time Bomb (*wink*) for old-school punks eager to party with Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman for the first time in far too long.
Joining them on the bill are emo-rock pioneers The Used, pop-punk turned emo heartland rockers The Wonder Years, Minnesota’s Motion City Soundtrack, British starlets Hot Milk, and US pop-punkers Meet Me At The Altar.
With many more names to be added we are already eagerly awaiting next year and cannot wait to see what else we have to look forward to.
Slam Dunk Festival 2022 will take place on Friday 3rd June (North) and Saturday 4th June (South), moving from the usual May Bank Holiday weekend to align with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday Weekend which begins on Thursday 2nd June.
