Yes, you read that right! Sham Dunk 2020 is not a typo, it is in fact the start of festival season. Taking place on Friday 1st May and Saturday 2nd May, virtually of course, Rob Lynch brings us a line-up from our wildest dreams. While we’re on the subject of dream festivals, Rob guarantees there will be no clashes at all. Could this festival get any better!?
The “DIY stay at home festival” will consist of playlists for every band’s setlist on the bill, accessible through Spotify or Apple Music. For the true festival experience, there’s an afterparty of sorts being planned, printable AAA Sham Dunk lanyard passes, and printable Sham Dollars to use as currency.
On the subject of a virtual festival experience, Rob says “to some I know this might sound like you’re just going to listen to a big playlist at the same time as other people but this is where you need your imagination to come into play.” While we advise showering, especially in the midst of this pandemic, why not embrace festival life? Dress up like you’re going out, stick some beers in the fridge, video chat your friends, and turn the speakers up! Sham Dunk Festival is the first of its kind, and for all we know, the only festival you can attend this year.
