Employed To Serve Release Brand New Single and Video

Employed To Serve have hit us with ‘Harsh Truth’, the second single from their upcoming album Eternal Forward Motion. The song builds on the band’s signature stomping hardcore sound and takes it to full blown aggro-metal.

The Woking 5 piece blew the underground hardcore scene to pieces with the release of their 2017 album The Warmth of a Dying Sun, achieving feats that most could have never have predicted. Through hard work and great music, the band got taken on tour with the likes of Code Orange and Stick To Your Guns, while ushering in a new generation of underground bands and bettering the scene. Their contribution to British heavy music has been a treat to see over the past few years and here’s to hoping Eternal Forward Motion is yet another leap forward – If Harsh Truth and it’s predecessor Force Fed are anything to go by, it will be.

Lyrically, ‘Harsh Truth’ touches on the affects of depression and how the current state of the world plays its part in keeping minds bogged down. Vocalist Justine Jones also wants to use the song as a tool to remind people that it’s okay not to be okay, noting in an interview, “In 2017, 5,821 suicides were registered in the UK and is the second leading cause of death among 15-29 year olds. These statistics are staggering, but all is not lost as there has been a decline in attempts thanks to the work of charities such as Samaritans. Lyrically, ‘Harsh Truth’ is an anthem for the ill-represented masses who are struggling behind the veil of positive social media posts. The world is a better place with you in it, so stay alive and seek help as it’s always there.” Find help here: https://www.iasp.info/resources/Crisis_Centres/
