Now the mince pies have settled and the Christmas hangovers faded, Bloodstock have got straight back into the swing of things by announcing four new bands for the 2019 edition of the festival.
Powerwolf will take the Friday special guest slot, taking to the stage before fellow Euro power metal titans, Sabaton. The German act released their seventh album last year and cannot wait to be back at Bloodstock after a long wait.
“We’re looking forward to returning to the mighty BLOODSTOCK Festival after almost ten years to celebrate the metal mass with our friends in the UK – this is going to be a truly wild one!!”
Joining them on Friday are Soulfly! Max Cavalera and co. need no introduction to most metalheads and will be bringing the hits from latest album, Ritual.
It will be a family affair at Bloodstock this year as Max’s son, Richie, will also be performing with Phoenix metal squad, Incite open up the main stage on Friday. The band will be releasing their fifth album, ‘Built to Destroy’ at the end of January, so expect plenty of new material.
Finally, Finish doom merchants, Swallow the Sun will be bringing some gloom to Saturday morning as they perform on the Ronnie James Dio stage.
These four bands join Sabaton, Scorpions, Cradle of Filth, Anthrax, Children of Bodom and many more at Bloodstock 2019!
Bloodstock takes place at Catton Park, Derbyshire on 8th-11th August.
